adult beginners courses

If you would like to learn all the skills required to climb indoors, we can teach you everything you need to know to start your new exciting climbing career.

The 3 hours beginners course covers the following:

• how to belay (controlling the rope).
• tying the basic knot (the "figure of eight").
• how to understand the grading system (of the climbing "routes ").
• how to put on a harness correctly.
• lots of climbing under the supervision of an enthusiastic instructor.
• a brief introduction to bouldering.

The course usually take place on Monday or Friday evenings from 7pm-10pm and will teach you everything you require to use alien rock with confidence as a member.
Ratio 1 instructor to 6 people maximum.

Please note that 2 or more persons can usually book a course outwith these times if an instructor is available.

Cost for the basic course is £50 per person.

Special Offer beginners Course is £75 and includes free climbing for the first month after completion of the course. (saving £26 on the normal cost of a monthly card). Please ask staff for full details when booking.

All participants will be given a voucher for 15% discount
to help in buying their first set of of climbing equipment.
